We are a reseller, and the honest version of this page is short: we do not manufacture anything, we hold no environmental certification, and we are not going to claim one.
What is actually true of the range
Two things about the catalogue are checkable rather than aspirational:
- 19 products carry an ENERGY STAR certification from their manufacturer. They are collected at ENERGY STAR Certified. The certification is the manufacturer's and the testing is the EPA's; we only report it.
- 16 of the outdoor machines run on battery rather than petrol, against 11 that are petrol-driven. They are collected at Cordless & Battery Power. A battery mower burns no fuel and needs no oil change; where its electricity comes from is a question about your grid, not about the machine.
The most useful thing we can tell you
The largest environmental cost in this catalogue is an appliance that gets replaced early — because it did not fit, because it was the wrong specification, or because it failed and nobody repaired it. So:
- Measure before ordering. See Installation.
- Keep the manual and the model number. Parts are far easier to source when you have both.
- Ask us before you replace something. If a part is available we would rather tell you that than sell you a new machine.
Disposing of the old one
We do not collect old appliances. Refrigerators and freezers contain refrigerant gases that must be recovered by a licensed handler and cannot go in household waste; most municipal waste authorities run a collection or an approved drop-off. Lithium batteries from cordless tools are separately recyclable and should never go in general waste — most tool retailers and many hardware stores take them back.
